Folk Music for all

A regular performer for many years at the Cross Keys Folk Club is our very own Martin Stimson. Theres no 'P' in his name, Martin says it was taken out way back when!

Martin  is an accomplished singer who has supported some very popular and polished performers. Ralph McTell and The Albion Band are just a couple of names Martin is proud to add to his list.

A full time proffesional Gardner Martin still has time as a singer songwriter who plays and sings his own brand of music and performs songs from his part of the world which he so dearly loves. He writes songs about things that are important to him. Martin so very clearly enjoys and takes immense delight in sharing his music with others (here are some samples).

Call in on Martin's website by clicking on the telephone.

Martin plays  play guitar, mandola, banjo, dulcimer and percussion, though not all at the same time! When not playing solo, he plays with his band, Roughtown or with Shake-A-Leg, the stonking good ceilidh band. Martin's gig-list may seem a bit sparse, but he intends to work on that (possibly with your help?)... and he does have a day job (as a gardener)! Martin says "As a 'semi-pro', I feel I have the best of both worlds, and enjoy both halves of my life immensely".

'The Blue Ribbon', by singer songwriter, Martin Stimson Is a moving tale in song of a Blue Ribbon over Saddleworth.
