Jeff Warner

Jeff Warner is among the nation’s foremost performer/interpreters of traditional music. His songs from the lumber camps, fishing villages and mountain tops of America connect 21st century audiences with the everyday lives–and artistry–of 19th century Americans. “Providing more than just rich entertainment, Jeff will leave you with a deeper appreciation of the land you live in” (Caffé Lena, Saratoga, NY). His songs, rich in local history and a sense of place, bring us the latest news from the distant past.

Michelle Holding and Bonz

This talented duo are back at the club.

Michelle Holding sings traditional and contemporary British and American songs, playing guitar, banjo and concertina. Blessed with a striking and distinctive voice, she performs with passion and sensitivity. Confesses publicly to being a Morris dancer and also calls dances for ceilidhs, something which she is gaining quite a following for, through her welcoming, gender free calling style. Michelle is starting to wade into the murky waters of classic English fingerstyle banjo.

Her accompanist Bonz, a talented multi-instrumentalist, plays dobro, banjo and harmonica, and provides harmony vocals when with Michelle. Has been performing in folk clubs, at festivals and concerts since before Michelle was born

Derek Gifford

Sailing By is the new album release by Derek Gifford, who has been singing folk songs for over 30 years and, since retirement from the 'day job', is now occupied as a full time folk performer. Apart from his many club and festival engagements Derek also gives talks and workshops on the music to a variety of audiences. He is a member of the committee of Folkus, the new north- west folk arts group, and is co-producer of the Lancashire Voices project dedicated to recording and archiving less well known Lancashire singers.

Sailing By is Derek's second maritime themed recording (the first was Mainly Maritime, released in 1996) and reflects his long-standing interest in and involvement with shanties and other salty songs.

On this recording, Derek is joined by fellow folk musicians Jayne Coyle (viola), Chris Harvey (keyboards and synth), Geoff Higginbottom (chorus), Keith Kendrick (chorus and concertina), Janet Hale and Alison Younger (vocals and chorus).
